Bring the whole family or friends and join us for a fun, all ages, puzzle night at the New Castle Community Center, 423 W Main Street.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and be ready to start on time
$40 per team, up to four people per team

Teams will work together to complete a beautiful custom-designed puzzle featuring Downtown New Castle, Colorado. After the event, you will be able to glue your finished puzzle and take it home. You may even choose to frame it.

Food available: Chili* - Chili Dogs - Hot Dogs - $5 per person includes beverage

Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place.

Teams are limited and will go fast

Come enjoy an evening of teamwork, community, and friendly competition.

*Chili is homemade, mild, and meatless

Little Roots Adventure Program with Caroline Long - Summer 2026

Little Roots Adventures:  One week - Monday through Friday 9am-1pm

June 8th-12th    Ages:  7-12  $40 per day (4-hour days)  Register for one or more days

New Castle drop-off locations are designated each day. The group will head out on that day's adventure promptly at 9:15am. Don't be late! Each adventure will end up at the same drop-off location and the kids will be ready for pick-up at 1pm.

Bring a lunch, two snacks, and a water bottle. Wear proper outdoor shoes and attire.

Parents are encouraged to stop by to meet our instructor, Caroline Long, prior to the program start. Meet-&-Greet at the New Castle Community Center 423 W. Main on Wednesday, June 3rd 6pm for one hour.

Little Roots Adventures is a week-long, nature-based program designed to help children slow down, explore, and connect with the natural world. Each day includes a balance of guided mindfulness activities, nature exploration, creative arts, and free play. Through hands-on experiences, such as learning about local plants, nature crafts, and group activities, children are encouraged to build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging outdoors. This program is intentionally small and thoughtfully guided to ensure each child feels safe, supported, and engaged. All activities are led by a certified guide with training in Wilderness First Aid and CPR, with a strong focus on safety and emotional well-being.

Parents will be required to sign a liability waiver online and each day at drop-off.

Lunch Bunch - Kids' Kitchen on Wednesdays - Summer 2026

LUNCH BUNCH -  Each Wednesday we will gather in the New Castle Community Center Kitchen to make lunch for ourselves. We will talk about nutrition and balanced meals. We will practice setting the table and proper table etiquette. We will clean up our mess in the kitchen and do the dishes.  If we have time, we will plan the menu and shopping list for the next Wednesday meal. Our menus focus on "homemade" using kid-friendly recipes with ingredients they can typically find at home.

The New Castle Police Dept. is proud to present our 2nd Annual YOUTH POLICE ACADEMY

DIRTY HOG DASH - Obstacle Course & Mud Run for Kids - Summer 2026

The 9th Annual Dirty Hog Dash is open to kids, ages 4-14 years who are ready to conquer obstacles, get dirty, and have fun on a challenging 1-mile course.

9:00-11:00am. Waves begin at 9:00am and continue every 30 minutes!

The first 300 kids to register will get a t-shirt and headband.

Junior Titan Volleyball Camp - Summer 2026

Let's get ready for volleyball season!!! Instructional camp for incoming 3rd-8th graders wanting to learn the game or increase their skills for their upcoming seasons. Coal Ridge Titans coaches and players will be instructing the players! Come join in for a time of fun and competition and let's get ready for our seasons!!!

Fall Coed 3rd/4th Grade Soccer - Fall 2026

Our 3rd and 4th grade Coed soccer program is ready to launch its fall season! Gear up for a season full of skill-building, teamwork, and exciting game play. The fall season will kick off the week of August 17th and end on October 2nd. Practices will be held twice a week depending on coach availability at VIX Park. Games will be played against Rifle and Grand Valley Recreation!

Your player will need shin guards, rubber molded soccer cleats and plenty of water.

Please register your child as the grade they will be entering for the 2026/2027 School year!

Fall Micro Soccer - Fall 2026

Micro Soccer

Please enroll your child in the grade they will be entering for the 2026–2027 school year.

There will be no waiting list this season, we are only accepting 80 kids! 

Pre-K through 2nd grade (at least 4 years old)

Micro Soccer is a recreational program designed for children in Pre-K through 2nd grade. This program emphasizes having fun while teaching essential soccer skills like dribbling, passing, and scoring.

Dates & Location 

The program runs from August 19th to October 2nd, 2026 at  Alder Park,  (Pre-K & Kindergarten) - and (1st & 2nd) is a VIX PARK

Cost
Registration is $60 per child.

 Schedule: For Pre-K and Kindergarten participants, sessions are held twice a week with one practice and a scrimmage game each week. For 1st and 2nd graders, the program meets three times a week with two practices and a game on Friday evenings

Girls Youth Volleyball (3rd-6th Grade) - Fall 2026

Introduction to Volleyball  (Grades 3rd & 4th)

Introduction to Volleyball program is perfect for girls wanting to try this exciting sport. The program will focus on teaching the basic skills of the sport; passing, serving, setting and hitting. There will only be practices as we are trying to build fundaments for the next level to play games.

2026 Lego League - Competition Series - Annual 2026

Calling all builders!  Our LEGO League 2026 competitions are scheduled!

New Castle Community Center - 423 W. Main

Builders must register beforehand!

Our Lego League Competition Series is your chance to show off your building skills, Lego knowledge and creativity! Building will take place at the New Castle Community Center from 4:30 pm to 5:45 pm. Registration is $10 and required beforehand.

We supply all building materials to be used in the competition.

Structures will remain property of New Castle Recreation.

Individual builders will be judged in two categories based on age, 5-8 years and 9-12 years.

Individual contestants will have one hour to build a masterpiece to present to the judges.

The judges will award a 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place in each age group. Register your Lego Lover today!

$5 Vendor fee for a 5-6 ft. table (We provide the tables)  

Toys must be clearly marked with a price, or labeled FREE.

Come sell, trade, or giveaway your unwanted, gently used toys. Items can be free or reasonably priced. 

Collector cards are okay too. No clothes or furniture. You must register and participate in the swap/sale to bring toys. No drop-offs.

Each vendor must handle their own cashbox if needed.

Set up the day before, Friday 5pm-7pm  or  Set up the morning of the event 9am-9:45am  You must be totally set up before 10am Saturday.

Community shoppers are encouraged to come and buy or get toys for free!

Coal Ridge Soccer Summer Camp - Summer 2026

Camp Dates & Location

The soccer camp will take place from June 8–13, 2026, at the Coal Ridge High School soccer field. The camp is organized by grade level based on the 2025–2026 school year.

1st–4th Grade Camp

The co-ed camp for 1st–4th grade players will run from June 8–10, 2026, from 9:00–11:00 AM each day. Boys and girls will participate together in the same session. Registration costs $80, or $60 with the early registration discount available this month.

5th–8th Grade Camp

The 5th–8th grade camp will take place from June 11–13, 2026, and will feature separate sessions for boys and girls. The boys session will run from 8:00–10:00 AM, and the girls session will run from 10:30 AM–12:30 PM. Registration costs $100, or $80 with the early registration discount available this month. 

Incoming freshmen who were 8th graders during the 2025–2026 school year should register for the 5th–8th grade group!

Things to bring to camp! 

Players should bring a water bottle, soccer cleats, running shoes, shin guards, sunscreen, and a snack each day.
