Youth Sports Camp 2025 - Summer II 2025

Join New Castle Recreation in this four-day camp focused on team sports! Grab your water bottle and head out to VIX Park to play some Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer and Volleyball. Open to players going into third grade and up to seventh grade, this camp starts Monday, July 28th and goes through Thursday, July 31st from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

We will feature a different sport each day.

Dirty Hog Dash - 8th Annual - Summer 2025

The Dirty Hog Dash is open to kids, ages 4-14 years who are ready to conquer obstacles, get dirty, and have fun on a challenging 1-mile course. The course features man-made obstacles and we guarantee that they will get dirty!

9:00-11:30am. Waves begin at 9:00am ancontinue every 30 minutes!

VIX Ranch Park

$25 before event day /$35.00 the day of event

The first 400 kids to register will get a t-shirt and headband.

New this year: All participants must wear an event wristband to enter the course.

Wednesday Lunch Bunch - Summer 2025

LUNCH BUNCH -  Each Wednesday we will gather in the New Castle Community Center Kitchen to make lunch for ourselves. We will talk about nutrition and balanced meals. We will practice setting the table and proper table etiquette. We will clean up our mess in the kitchen and do the dishes.  If we have time, we will plan the menu and shopping list for the next Wednesday meal.

Cornhole Tournament - Summer 2025

Registration fee: $50 per team

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Pool Play → Single Elimination (Everyone gets a shot before the real competition begins.)
Hogback Pizza will be serving up pizza and cold drinks for sale (Yes, you can take your beverage into the cornhole arena.) NO outside alcohol allowed.  We may check your ID more than once.

Products must all be handmade by the child and their friends and siblings.

YOUTH VENDOR at the New Castle Community Market - Summer 2025

Attention young entrepreneurs!  (New Castle residents)

YOUTH VENDORS for our New Castle Community Market

Note: This is not the same as the Kids' Market on June 19th

We are offering a vendor space each Thursday to anyone age 6 to 17. The vendor fee is $10 for a single market. Each youth vendor must provide their own table. Pop-up tent is optional - natural tree shade is provided. Items for sale must be handmade by the child with their siblings or friends. No Food or Beverage sales allowed with this offering. Each child will be responsible for their own cash and transactions with the help of parents if needed.

Youth vendors must register online at newcastlerec.com to reserve their market date. Each child vendor must provide a product description to Kelley at the New Castle Rec. Dept. - kcox@newcastlecolorado.org - at least 2 weeks prior to the reserved market date.

Dates available: July 10, 17, 24, 31 ... August 7, 14, 21, 28   Limit of one market per family with this offering

2025 Introduction to Pickleball Youth - Summer 2025

Sign your kids up to learn about the fastest growing sport in the US! Introduction to Pickleball is for kids from 2nd to 7th grade, but older kids are welcome to register as well. Meeting at 9am every Monday in June, we will cover the basics of pickleball and play games against each other! We will play at the outdoor pickleball courts at Bear Dance Park, paddles and balls will be provided but feel free to send your player with their own paddle if you like. We hope to see you on the courts soon! 

Junior Titan Volleyball Camp - Summer 2025

Let's get ready for volleyball season!!! Instructional camp for 3rd-8th graders wanting to learn the game or increase their skills for their upcoming seasons. Coal Ridge Titans coaches and players will be instructing the players! Come join in for a time of fun and competition and let's get ready for our seasons!!!

This is a 4 week program focusing on the fundamentals of baseball. 

This program typically has 1 practice and 1 "scrimmage game" a week. Practices and games are in the evenings.

Girls Youth Softball (8-10 yrs) - Summer 2025

Lego League - Competition Series - Summer 2025

Calling all builders!  Four Dates through August!

Our Lego League Competition Series is your chance to show off your building skills, Lego knowledge and creativity!

We supply all building materials to be used in the competition.

Individual builders will be judged in two categories based on age, 5-8 years and 9-12 years.

Individual contestants will have one hour to build a masterpiece to present to the judges.

The judges will award a 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place in each age group. Register your Lego Lover today!

CO-ED Volleyball Grass Tournament - Summer 2025

The tournament will be hosting 8+ grass courts. There will be teams of Co-Ed 2v2 competitive, and Co-Ed 4v4 recreational. Please make sure to sign up with the appropriate level to maximize the fun!

4v4: $100 until 5/16 then $125 per team

(One female must be on the court at all times and only allowed 4 players on a team)

(One female on the court at all times up to 3 players on the team)
